The Secrets of Writing

Does anybody among all of you, dear listeners, wonder one day why they are writing? What’s the purpose of writing? Why do most people, when you ask them whether they love writing, reply confidently, “Yes, we do love writing.” Honestly, if anybody who is listening to me now in this crowd asked themselves why they write, raise your hand.
Now let’s count, 1,2,3,4, 3 on the left, 2 on the right, 7 on the back, 3 here…. Okay, almost 15…not too bad.
Alright, I will tell you something interesting. Writing isn’t only typing. It is pure love and pure beauty. Firstly, writing helps us use our imaginations because sometimes when we write fiction, we need to use our imagination to describe the character. Also, it helps us use more interesting words. Thirdly, it helps us share our thoughts confidently.
Are you sleepy? Okay, before we finish, I will tell you something.
When I was little, I wasn’t a fan of writing. I never liked something called writing. But luckily, there was an English teacher who knew that I hated writing. She knew everything. So, she came up to me and said,
‘Zayneb, writing is lovely. Come to my lessons and you will see.”
And I did. Every day, I attended her lessons until I began to love writing. Her lessons were as sweet as ice cream.
Last but not least, I want you guys to love writing and to care for it because writing isn’t only typing. It’s the magic key to your own secret world!
Do you feel stressed? Okay, just write!
Sad? Sit and write.
Happy? Proud of yourself? Sit and write.
Your dreams? Just write about them.
All your feelings, your emotions, your ambitions, your worries–just sit and write about them. You will find yourself between all your written words.
