The Lost Tornado

“Oh god, please help me while I am driving the car,” I  said to myself.

I woke up and headed downstairs, where my mom was cooking the best thing in the world: waffles with whipped cream and chocolate syrup.

“How did you sleep?” asked mom.

“Good,”  I said as I wore my headphones and held my controller.

“What do you think you are doing?” asked mom.

“I am about to play Call of Duty,” I replied with a yawn.

“No, not until you finish your school homework,” said mom.

“It’s summer break, why can’t we just play and have fun?” I asked.

“Because this is the break, we all start to forget about school and our work,” said mom.

“Fine, I will do my homework,” I said.

“I am going to do grocery at costco, so finish your work, and if you finish your work early, read a book and wait until I come back,” said mom as she wore her shoes and left the house.

A loud roar came near my house and I got really scared but still kept doing my homework. I heard a loud roar again and got a bit scared this time, but still kept doing my homework. Once I heard it again, I got scared and headed outside to check what was going on.

“Oh no, it is a tornado,” I said to myself. “It’s still far from our house, so I should be good for a few hours.”

I then got the remote and checked the weather forecast. It said that everybody should leave the city before it comes to them. I then called my mom, but she didn’t answer so I got the car keys, and started the car.

“Oh god please help me while I am driving the car,” I  said to myself.

I then moved the gear to reverse and reversed the car. I went on the road and started driving towards Costco, where I looked for my mom but couldn’t find her. I went to the checkout and told the person there to call my mother’s name from the speaker they had in the store.

“Jake’s mom, can you please come to the checkout? Again Jake’s mom, can you come to the checkout? Your son is waiting at the checkout,” said the cashier.

No one showed up so I went back home and packed my suitcase and entered the car again. I started the car and after a full hour I was at the highway waiting for the traffic to move.

“It’s too much traffic, so I think I will head back home,” I said to myself

After reaching home, I sat down and started the TV to check the weather. I heard the roar again…
