One morning, when I woke up, I just realized that I was late to school. I immediately changed my clothes into a school uniform, grabbed my school bag and ran to school before my mom noticed me. That second when I was about to open my room door, my mom came inside. My heart’s beeping was fast as though I had been exercising. But my mom didn’t say anything; she just passed by and smiled. Then I looked in the mirror and didn’t see anything. At that moment, I just knew that I was invisible.
After I arrived at school, I disposed of the absent letter that my class teacher wrote to the principal. I could do the things that students couldn’t do at school, like watching YouTube videos during class and cheating during exams and tests. It felt really amazing to be invisible. I could sneak around without anyone noticing. I decided to explore this new power and see how far I could go.
First, I went to the cafeteria. Usually, there’s a long line and it feels like waiting forever. But today, I just walked right up to the front and grabbed a tray. I filled it with everything: pizza, fries, and even creamy chocolate milk. I sat down and watched my friends laugh and chat. I felt a little bad for not joining them, but it was amazing and fun to be unseen.
After lunch, I headed to math class. As soon as I slipped inside, I saw everyone struggling with the new topic. Mr. Lee was trying to explain fractions, but most of them looked very confused. I decided to tiptoe to the front and peeked at the answers that Mr. Lee was holding. Fractions looked complicated, but I just realized that my dad already taught me fractions a week ago.
Suddenly, I had an idea! I whispered the answers to my friends, hoping that they would take the hint. I could see their faces lightening up and quickly wrote the answer on the mock-test paper. It felt so good to help, even though they didn’t know it was me who had helped.
Ding ding. Oh no! This had been just a dream.
