Lena always dreamt of becoming a successful doctor. She would go to her mom’s office every Saturday to learn about new things. She was assigned to check-in patients when they would come for their appointment.
“Lena, I am waiting in the car for you. You must be ready within two minutes. My patients are waiting for me in the clinic!” yelled Lena’s mom, Dr. Fessle.
“I am coming, mom! I just have to pack my notebook and my phone. I am rushing,” yelled Lena.
Lena ran into her mom’s car and said, “Thanks for waiting for me, mom. I am so excited to see more patients. I checked your schedule and today I get to see patients rather than just check-in them.”
“Wow, Lena. That sounds fun. Make sure not to mess up, or I could possibly end up losing my doctor’s license,” said Dr. Fessle.
“Okay, mom. I will try my very best,” said Lena.
“You will not try. You will,” said Dr. Fessle
Lena and her mother drove to their clinic as they talked about Lena’s future in medical school.
“We are here! You better not mess this up for me, Dr. Lena,” said Dr. Fessle.
“Hehe, of course I won’t. I am very good at this job,” said Lena.
Lena walked into the clinic as she skipped through the rooms.
“Daniel Hengens! Please go to Room I!” yelled Lena.
Lena walked into Room I with the patient, Daniel.
“Hello Daniel, how may I help you today!?” asked Lena.
“I have chest pain. I was wondering if you could prescribe me some meds. You know, to help me recover. But looking at your age, I don’t think you are aware of what you are doing,” said Daniel.
“Excuse me, I am Dr. Fessle’s daughter. I know what I am doing. Like for God’s sake,” said Lena.
“Okay! Calm down, little girl. Just give me my meds,” said Daniel.
“I think you should take twenty pills of Advil every hour. That should help!” said Lena.
“Twenty PILLS! Are you crazy?” said Daniel.
“I am the doctor. NOT YOU!” yelled Lena.
Daniel stood up and said, “Okay, fine! Where can I get my meds from exactly?”
“Just go to the pharmacy next door. They will give some,” Lena said.
Daniel walked to the pharmacy and said, “Dr. Lena told me to get medicine from the pharmacy. It’s under Daniel Hengens.”
“Sir, are you sure this is a certified doctor? Twenty pills?” asked the pharmacist.
“That’s what I thought. Anyways, just gimme my meds. I ain’t dealing with these chest pains any longer,” said Daniel.
“Here you go, Daniel,” said the pharmacist.
Daniel left with his twenty pills.
Daniel took all the pills one by one.
A couple minutes later, Daniel felt dizzy and he collapsed.
A few minutes later, people began to notice that a man had collapsed.
They called the ambulance quickly. The ambulance came and pulled Daniel onto a stretcher. They checked him closely.
“Same as always. Overdose, drug addict. We are not wasting our time on a bum like him. Just call the cops. They can handle it from here. I get paid either way,” said the paramedic.
A couple hours later, Daniel woke up in a dirty prison.
“Get me outta here!? I didn’t do anything wrong,” yelled Daniel.
“That’s what you all say, Mr. Druggy,” said the security guard.
“Druggy? I have never even tasted alcohol in my life. How could I possibly take a drug pill!” yelled Daniel.
“You didn’t exactly take a specific drug pill. You just overdosed with Advil. BUT! That does not change the fact that you are a druggy!” said the police.
“Just hear me out, okay? I walked out of the doctor’s clinic with a prescription to take twenty pills of Advil to help me with my chest pains. At first, I knew that was not true but the doctor just convinced me at the end. I collected my pills at the pharmacy after a few minutes. I asked the pharmacist and she gave them to me with some warning. I later went to the parking lot and took all my pills at once,” explained Daniel to the officer.
“Really! You druggies are not good at anything EXCEPT making up stories and lying. You guys are talented enough to be authors at this point. I don’t get why you guys just lay on the road taking pills and begging for money. Like go write some kid stories,” said the security guard as he high-fived the police officer. They both laughed to the extent that their boss entered from the noise.
“Last time I checked, I paid you for working. Not laughing and entertaining the prisoners,” said the boss.
“No, boss! Not at all. We were talking about work stuff, right Jason?” said the officer as he looked at Jason, expecting him to lie.
“I demand a lawyer!” yelled Daniel. “I am innocent. Yet, I am being punished for absolutely no reason!”
The boss agreed with Daniel and organized a court.
Shift to the court:
“So you see, your honor. I am innocent,” said Daniel as he explained the story of him with twenty pills.
“That is a lie! A big one,” yelled the security guard as he looked back at Daniel.
The police officer also nodded his head.
“Mr. Jake, you are not allowed to speak unless I grant you permission. So be quiet. You may be removed from court if this occurs again,” said the judge to the security guard in a british accent.
Daniel started to cry because of stress.
“The doctor who prescribed me with twenty meds was Dr. Lena,” said Daniel. “You know Dr. Fessle’s daughter?”
“How old is she, Mr. Daniel?” asked the judge.
“I would say twelve or thirteen,” said Daniel.
“She is not allowed to be working as a doctor at such a young age. Let me call Dr. Fessle’s clinic,” said the judge.
The judge and some security guards began to call Dr. Fessle.
“Hey, dork! Don’t ever think you can win this court. You don’t even have a lawyer,” said the officer.
“I don’t have a lawyer because I am one,” said Daniel.
“Stop lying. That’s not true! That was a good joke though,” said Officer Jake.
“I was recording what you said to me FYI! Your honor!! No need to call the clinic. I got all the evidence here,” yelled Daniel.
Daniel played the audio in front of the whole courtroom leaving the security officer and police humiliated.
“I have heard enough. You two officers. Your policing licenses are being taken away,” said the judge. “Call Dr. Fessle and tell her that her daughter shall have twenty hours of community service.”
Just like that, everyone got what they deserved.
