I Died and Woke Up Again!

Manny was so excited for her first overnight school trip. She was jumping up and down in her bedroom as she packed her favorite outfits.
Her brother, Lucas, walked into the room and yelled, “Manny is going for her first ever overnight school trip!”
He shoved all of Manny’s coins onto the carpet with his sleeves.
“Lucas, leave me alone. I am trying to pack my clothes,” said Manny.
“Bla-bla-bla. You don’t need to pack. Just wear the same clothes for two days,” explained Lucas.
“No, thank you. I don’t need to take advice from a kid who showers once a week only,” said Manny.
As always, Lucas ran crying back to his mom. Manny usually ignored him. He would always make a fuss about little things. Manny continued dancing as she packed her carry-on.
“Manny! Come downstairs right now!” shouted Manny’s mom from downstairs.
Manny couldn’t hear a thing. She was busy listening to story books on her iPad. All of a sudden, the headphones disconnected. She looked back to see what happened, surprised to find her mom turning it off.
“Hey! You can’t touch my iPad without my permission,” said Manny.
“Oh really? Young lady, I paid for it. Now stop acting like a spoiled brat and apologize to your little brother for calling him ‘unhygienic’. You shower too much which costs a lot of money, Manny,” said mom.
“I thought showering was a good thing,” said Manny.
“You are such an ungrateful brat. You think water is free but it isn’t. You shower at least four times a day,” said mom.
“Just leave me alone. I have a big day tomorrow,” said Manny.
Mom and Lucas exited the room as they left the door open.
“Come here and close my door Lucas,” said Manny.
“What if I don’t want to?” shouted Lucas.
“I HATE YOU AND MOM!” yelled Manny.

1 DAY LATER:

“And just like that my brother and my mom are the worst! Urgh, I hate them so much. My mom acts like Lucas’s mini bodyguard. Ever since my dad died, I feel like she doesn’t love me anymore,” said Manny to her friends as they laid on their bunk beds getting ready to sleep.
“Rebeca! That’s disgusting. You lick your fingers after you eat a Cheeto and then put it back in. Eat from your own bag!” exclaimed Anysia.
Rebeca, Anysia, Sophie, Milada and Manny were best friends. They all somehow ended up getting the same cabin on the overnight trip.
Rebeca burst into tears as she finished licking her thumb.
“Yeah go cry, Rebeca. All you know is different ways of impressing others that you could cry for hours in a row out loud without taking a breath. Sometimes I wonder why I brought you into our friendship group,” said Anysia.
“That was rude. Sometimes I wonder why we let you in our group, Anysia,” said Sophie.
Rebeca and Anysia hated each other. They always argued just like Manny and Lucas did. It brought back lots of memories.
“Girls, bed time! It is 11 o’clock,” said Ms. Jacobs from the other side of the bedroom.
The students and one teacher had to share a cabin for safety purposes. There were two bedrooms in the cabin.
“Aww, can we please stay up just one more hour?” asked Milada.
“Yeah, no, absolutely not. If you girls wanna stay up, then you must stay quiet. If you wake me up, you will have a severe homework penalty,” said Ms. Jacobs.
“Yes! You are the best, we will stay quiet,” yelled Rebeca.
“Chillax Cheeto Rebeca. We all know you will bother us,” said Anysia.
“Anysia and Rebeca, you guys have to stop fighting. You guys are best friends!” said Sophie.
“Said who? It was a coincidence that we are in the same friendship group,” said Rebeca.
“Guys please stop fighting!” exclaimed Manny.
All of a sudden the girls heard a creepy sound in the dark, silent room.
Creek
The girls all hugged each other.
“Ew, Cheeto Rebeca! Get your hands off my new sweater. Do you know how much this costs? Pfft, who am I talking to? She probably doesn’t know. Look at her ripped sweater,” said Anysia.
“Can you guys stop fighting for once? This is our life on the line. Someone is trying to kill us. Plus we can’t wake Ms. Jacobs up. She said we will have a homework penalty,” said Milada and Manny.
The girls nodded.
“I think she meant it at unnecessary times. Not NOW!” said Sophie.
The girls saw someone masked holding a knife towards them.
“Oh well hello little girls. This is your last day on earth,” said the masked killer.
“Only God can predict that, you monster,” said Manny.
“Oh so you wanna die first, Manny?” said the killer.
“Sure, go ahead. I dare you. Plus, how do you know my name!” exclaimed Milada.
Someone hit the killer by the back. He fainted.
“MS. JACOBS!” yelled all the girls together except Anysia and Rebeca.
Like always, they were arguing.
“IT’S NOT A GOOD TIME, DON’T YOU THINK SO?” asked Sophie.
“It’s not my fault, her toes touched my toes. That’s disgusting!” exclaimed Anysia.
“No, I swear I didn’t do it on purpose. I was trying to jump out of the bunk bed. But it was dark, so I couldn’t see Anysia in the way,” said Rebeca.
“Alright girls, let’s all calm down and call the police. This guy might wake up any second,” said Ms. Jacobs as she kicked the bad guy on his knees with her heels.
A few minutes later, the police arrived.
“Yes, ma’am. How may we help you today?” asked the officer.
“This guy decided to kill my student, Manny, at midnight. I would politely ask you to take him to prison for attempted murder,” said Ms. Jacobs to the officer with a small grin.
The police became suspicious about why the teacher was grinning as she explained a murder scene.
“Ma’am, we would like you to come with us to the police station. Like for evidence and stuff like that,” said the officer as he fake laughed at the end.
“Okay?” said Ms. Jacobs.
The police took Ms. Jacobs and the bad guy to the station. The girls began to get suspicious about Ms. Jacobs.
“Would Ms. Jacobs want to hurt me possibly?” wondered Manny in her mind.
“What are you thinking about, Manny?” asked Milada.
“Nothing! I just–nothing,” said Manny.
“Hey, you can always talk to me. Is it about Ms. Jacobs and the bad guy?” asked Milada.
“No. Yeah. I don’t know. I guess. What if Ms. Jacobs actually wanted to hurt me? What do you think?” asked Manny.
“Okay, maybe she did. I think she was involved in the crime. The grin creeped me out, personally,” said Milada.
“Same here,” said Manny.
“Okay let’s go through Ms. Jacob’s phone. I bet she got some clues in there,” said Milada.
“Good idea,” said Manny.
Manny and Milada began searching through Ms. Jacob’s phone for clues. Her phone was unlocked. She was watching cooking videos as usual.
“I found something!” yelled Manny.
“What?” asked Milada.

“How could she! I literally took her as my second mother!” said Manny.
“Sometimes the ones closest to you can inflict the deepest wounds, Manny,” said Milada.
“I guess that’s true,” said Manny. “You are the closest to me though, Milada. We are best friends. Did you do something?”
“I would never! You really think I would do that?” asked Milada.
“Maybe, I don’t know,” said Manny.
“If that’s the case, I don’t wanna be friends with you. True friends trust each other. You don’t believe your own best friend!” shouted Milada.
“Okay, leave me alone. My life is betraying me. Lucas, my mother, Ms. Jacobs and now you apparently,” said Manny in a depressing way.
“Okay, if that’s the case then I don’t want to be your friend. Goodbye and have a good life!” said Milada.
Milada shut the door as she left the cabin with watery eyes. However, Manny didn’t have watery eyes. She had teary drops of tears already spread to her rosy cheeks.
“Why did Milada leave? Is everything alright?” said Sophie.
“Nothing, my life and Milada are both betraying me,” said Manny as she cried harder and louder.
“Hey, hey. We don’t cry. I am sure Milada would not do such things. But again it’s your choice. Keep reminding yourself that the ones closest to you inflict the deepest wounds,” said Sophie.
“Stop! You are bothering me and I don’t know. You are betraying me. I think. You have been trying to sabotage me and Milada’s strong friendship. That’s why we have been fighting for a few months. I read your journal. Sorry…” said Manny.
“How dare you read it. Hence, yes I hate you. Me and Milada were always best friends till you came between us and pulled her away,” said Sophie.
“I didn’t mean to. So you are the one who planned the whole scene out?” asked Manny.
“Of course it was me! Cannot believe it took you that much time to realize that! Go die, Manny,” yelled Sophie.
“That’s so mean. I am heading to Milada to say sorry and go to the police station to find Ms. Jacobs,” said Manny.
“Go! Leave me dying here alone, Manny! Crazy Manny,” said Sophie.
Sophie never dared to approach the girls’ group again. Rebeca and Anysia became best friends and so did Milada and Manny once again. Sophie got a four days suspension notice for arranging fights and chaos in Brookside Middle School. Just like that, they lived happily ever after.
THE END?
